EC EC consists of: Camilla Heidenberg: keyboard music and lyrics Emilia Nyman: vocals Matti Rantala: bass Markus Helander/ Markus Vainiomäki: drums Matti Fredriksson guitar Teemu Korpikoski: saxophone and flute Janne Toivonen trumpet and fluegelhorn Henri Wilkinson: keyboard EC plays Camilla Heidenberg’s compositions. The style can be described as a mix of Soul, Jazz, Pop, Latin, and Funk in both instrumental arrangements as well as vocal compositions in both English and Swedish. The musicians are all students or teachers at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, except for Emilia Nyman who has training as a musical artist from the Ballet Academy in Gotenburg. She has also studied for Elisabeth Howard at the Vocal Power Academy in Los Angeles. EC has performed for instance in the Mariehamn Winter Jazz and Blues festival in 2005. During the spring of 2006, EC participated in the music contest Musik.ax and won the second prize, as well as the jury’s honorary mention.
